Could I be allergic to milk?

I'm allergic to milk's protein...?

  • NOTE: Don't mix with lactose-intolerance. 6 years ago I had a very bad allergic reaction: My larynx swelled so much I couldn't breath or swallow, only because of a glass of milk. The doctor told me I can't have even a tiny drop of milk. 3 years after that my little brother came touching my face. He had just washed his hands of chocolate, but still I got an allergic reaction in the form of skin rash. Now, three years after that I don't get any symptoms from confirmed milk products. Could the allergy just have disappeared? NOTE: Don't mix with lactose-intolerance. (Had to say twice because everyone always mix my allergy with lactose-intolerance.)

  • Answer:

Yes, you could have grown out of it. You could go back to the allergist and get skin tested and have blood test done to test your IgE levels. My daughter was allergic to milk and has grown out of it. She is still severely allergic to peanuts though. (she's 3)
