How much do you have to drink to become an alcoholic?

If I drink sometimes can i become an alcoholic ?

  • I don't want to become an alcoholic, two of my aunts on my moms side of the family were alcoholics and I think some of my dads uncles were alcoholics and my mom and dad drink alot so could i become an alcoholic if i drink every once and a while

    since it does run in the blood-line, your chances are extremely high. just be careful on your drinking....such as,for exp: you start drinking because your in a good mood,bad mood,escape from reality.....regardless, its awesome that you are concerned for yourself....and want to take caution because of your family history....i applaud you for knowing the danger of alcoholism. Alcoholism is one of the worst diseases out there....ive seen it kill many,many people i loved, and the death processes is horrific. Ive seen cancer be a "kinder" form of slow death than alcoholism. any more questions, please let me know. Take care. -mary

yes, anyone can become an alcoholic. alcoholism is a horrific disease. It destroys families and lives. I just buried my ex husband a year ago he was an alcoholic and was only 45 years old. He lost his family, jobs, and eventually lost his life.

it doesnt matter how much you drink do reletives have drinking problems like parents if so its in your blood if not theres a smaller chance it just depends who you are and where you come from
