Loose weight in an healthy way?

Help! I need to loose weight the healthy way, am i doing it right?

  • Im 5'6 and weigh 59kg, i know this is a healthy weight and my boyfriend tells me how beautiful my body is yet i have such low self esteem and feel the need to be skinny. Atm im consuming less calories and doing more exercise as i thought this would be the healthy way to do it and hopefully give me a bit more confidence for the summer but im impatient and it sounds ridiculous but even though there are risks its tempting to starve myself i know that sounds absurd and i cant believe im even saying it....i need help on how to loose weight without resulting to this as i do want to be healthy. Any help would be appreciated i don't want to end up falling into a trap...

    Anorexia has the highest death rate of any mental illness out there. If you already know that your weight is healthy then please don't try to lose more - because you could end up with a lot more health problems than you ever bargained for. Just concentrate on being healthy - eat good foods and do some exercise. That's all you need to do to stay slim. :-)

You want to lose inches not weight and the best way to do that is weighlifting. As a irl you will not bulk up but your muscle will become more sleek, toned and compact. Weightlifting works wonders for the self esteem too. Make sure to eat enough protein.

one of the best programs is weight watchers. it really takes the weight off and it is healthy and liveable. you can go out to dinner, go on vacations and do anything and they give you strategies for keeping pounds off. it worked really great for me. they have exercise plans too. good luck

Hey hun I think that you need to be very careful! No lectures here, just good advice (I hope)!!!LOL!! Lets start with starving urself! Thi really wont do any good for you at all! Strictly speaking when the body stops recieving the nutrients it needs it will always begin to canabalise the muscle first, before it starts on the fat! No good, u need to feel fit and healthy to lose weight! U say that ur exercising more and consuming less calories; the positive thing is that ur trying! Exercising may take time but its sooo good for you, the only down side is that you will need to eat more. Try five small meals a day, rather than say 3 big ones, it will increase ur metabolism and help u burn off the fat! Running (or jogging as i do!!!) is the best way to exercise (C.v. wise), keep it up and keep eating! Try **** loads of veg. and fruit and cut back on the carbs and meat, but do not eliminate them, u need it all for a healthy diet! The atkin's (carb. free) diet is bollocks and unhealthy! Good luck and never starve, theres always another option!!! LSx

just be happy with the way u r. u might have bulimia because you think that you are fat ,but people insist that you are not. It might get to a point where you make yourself starve regurgitate in order to "lose" weight. Go to the doctor if you are unsure. It might just have to do with your height too. If you are tall then of course you will weigh more than a shorter person.

You need to sort out why you feel the need to be skinny. People like to be with healthy people. Skinny is not normally healthy. It is much much better to be a little overweight than underweight. Starving will damage your body. It will either cause you to put on more weight or develop a serious eating disorder. It is always a big mistake. The route to a healthy body starts with a healthy mind. Have regular mealtimes, regular sleep, regular exercise. Avoid excess alcohol, drugs and avoid caffeinne during the evening. The most effective way to lose weight and keep fit, is to establish a regular routine, relax and enjoy life. At 59 kg you really should'nt be trying to lose any weight. the more food you eat the faster your metabolism will run, but you have to eat the right types of food, plenty of fruit and veg, some protein, calcium and quite a lot carbohydrates as well to lose weight effectively, make sure you exercise at least 3 times a week for half an hour at a time and you will have a healthy body and will look fabulous

First I would seek counseling. It sounds like you need it to help boost your self esteem and to keep you from doing something you will really regret The key to losing weight is to eat. I am not going to tell you how to lose weight because it does not sound like you need it. What you need to do to maintain your weight is to excercise moderately 30 min a day I mean MODERATE a brisk walk, or a bike ride are good enough :0) Avoid foods that are high in sugar and fat that is common sense Candy, deep fried foods, pastries, frozen foods Don't eat excessive amounts of pastas Stick to whole wheat/grain snacks and bread. Granola is a perfect snack Peanut butter is an excellent snack it keeps your blood sugar in balance and will curve your appetite Don't starve yourself just use common sense when you eat and you will maintain your weight and stay healthy
