How To Build Muscle?

How and how long will it take to build muscle tone and add weight?

  • I asked this at abou 3AM in the morning so i didnt get any answers so im reposting this. So basically, I am 15 nearly 16. I am currently about 5'7" and 105 lbs. I am also a guy. I am really skinny, you can faintly see my ribs. I want to add weight and muscle tone, not really buff or strong, just toned in the arms, chest and legs I have been doing push ups, sit ups, and lunges for the past 9 weeks, slowly building more and more to them. Every day except the occasionally saturday or sunday, i do this routine. I am now up to about 75 pushups, 75 sit ups, and 75 lunges a day. I also want to build stamina, but it I didnt realize until very recently that I need to work on this. Im not sure how but I was thinking maybe, jogging? So here are my questions: 1. What foods should I eat to help gain some weight(not fat but just enough to not be really skinny)? 2. What are some exercises I can do to build muscle tone? 3. What is average weight and heigth for my age? 4. How long will it take to have a nicely toned body and average weight for someone my size? 5. Should I change my current routine? 6. How can I build stamina? Also, on a side not, I want to do this without having to use weights or any kind of "muscle building" formula to add to my food(i.e. smoothies, powders, protein shakes).     Answer to your questions: 1.) Consume more calories, particularly carbs and lean protein. 2.) Compound resistance exercise mixed with interval intense cardio. 3.) Average depends on several factors? It is different for each country and ethnicity. 4.) Depends on your body percentage, how much you continue to grow, hormone changes (testerone), how long and how often you work out, etc. 5.) No, keep your routine but add cardio training on alternate workout days. 6.) Take it slow in the beginning and add intensity & duration after each week.
