Whey Isolate Protein of Muscle XGF muscle Gain?
-
Been getting into some weight training and a lot of people are telling me to have a protein powder which helps regenerate muscles etc. Looking to bulk up a bit to - not body builder styles or anything - just toned as I am a bit on the skinny side. Been doing some research and came across two AST products that looked good. One was a Whey Protein Isolate and one was a muscle gainer. Links for reference are here: --> Muscle Gainer http://www.ast-ss.com/products/productpage.asp?prodid=114 Isolate Powder -->http://www.astss.co.uk/prodView.asp?idproduct=9 Both sound great but i don't know which one would be best for me? Are they similar products or are they totally different? Is there anybody out there who knows what they're talking about who can tell me what the differences are and when you would use each one? Thanks people!

Answer:
theres alot of hype, especially in this market. the secret here is a varied approach, like real food protien and the whey protien at opportune times..like breakfast, toss some protent into your cofee, if its chocolate, itl taste like hot chocolate, then eat 2 eggs.. lunch would be like a tuna salad sandwhich on double fiber bread, eat some beef jerky for a snack with carrots or something, and then after you work out have a protien shake within 20 mins( this is the best time frame for protien absorbtion i.e. gettin bigger) and eat some chicken breasts with veggies for dinner... all that being said ... realize gaing weight is alot harder than losing it... and the key is alot of protien and consistent effort in the gym something i would recommend is try and set goals, like bech x pounds x times or whatever... to actuaklly answer the question though, when buying protien look for one with a high bio availability of the protien, an egg is about 94 %, decent powdered protions should be something abvove that
