You cannot target a specific area in your body, like your love handles, for fat loss. Stored fat on your body, no matter where it is, belongs to the whole body and can therefore only be reduced by an overall body exercise routine. The best way would be a combination of cardiovascular (aerobics) and weight training exercises, especially if you alternate them on every other day.
Theres a reason why a lot of people show their body more like the stomach and love handles area. For your area, you need to do 2 exercises in specific. 1. trunk twists. 2. crunches Crunches will flatten the tummy if you do a lot of them in seperate reps every day. Try to do 30 reps per set and do about 7-9 sets a day. The prolonged activity will increase the muscle cell size and exercise will decrease the fat cell size. In time, your tummy will get in shape . Trunk twists will work the external obliques and this involves the twisting motion in the upper body. No specific amount of reps, just do this for a good 5 minutes per session and do 2-3 sessions per day. These 2 will help you out in your mid-section. The key to a flat stomach is always diet and exercise. In many cases, it is very essential to adjust our diet significantly. Our diets should not be about what to avoid rather than it should be what we should eat. We should eat lean protein, vegetables, fruits, grains, etc. We should go away from processed foods such as cereals, potato chips, french fries, etc.- or we can gradually eliminate those foods by minimizing our intake of them. Exercise should have weights and circuit training in order to develop lean muscle mass. Interestingly, if we focus on developing our overall fitness, we will get that skinny flat stomach. Thus, exercises that focus on stomach or abs such as crunches, sit-ups, etc. are good to supplement and are not good to be primary exercise to have flat stomach. Free weights are great. Exercises such as squats (with dumbbells are great), push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, shoulder presses, etc. are great for lean muscle mass. Go heavier by focusing on getting 8-10 reps (you can go on more reps such as 12-14 reps later). Then, do circuit training for your cardio type. Here is an example of a circuit training with a treadmill. Walk 2 minutes. Then, jog lightly for 2 minutes, then run for 1 minute, then 2 jog minutes, then run for 1 minute,...etc. Build yourself up to do this for 20 minutes. You may initially start off with only 10 minutes or so. This is a new beginning. Keep learning and growing on your knowledge on health and fitness. Someone has developed a specific routine aimed at improving your entire waistline and in particular those 'love handles'! Normal sit-ups are not particularly useful, you need something much stronger that will also improve your abs. "Twisting" is also pretty good and easy to do to music. Even some ways to relax can help - which is my idea of fun! Unfortunately there are some exercise you can do that actually make you thicker and you should watch out for! You should try some cardio. reps ,any good cardio work out will give the stomach and love handles a work out. Its not easy at first. Keep in mind this will not happen overnight ,so don't give up to soon.Also no matter what your doing walking,cleaning,jogging holding your core in and breathing right will help your posture and put strength where you need it. Locking in your core is super important whatever you choose.

You can't control where you lose fat from. You just need to increase your metabolism and hope it comes off the right places. If your stomach area is all that has fat then you should lose it from there. The best way to increase metabolism is with high intensity exercise. hey, it sounds like you don't need to do too much cardio if your alreadt quite slim. but you may want to to a little to speed up your toning up. maybe do 5 to 10 minutes of running 2 to 4 times a week. this will work wanders, trust me:) also, for your toning up, you may want to do situps, leg raises and maybe even some crunches. for you love handles, do sideways situps or stand straight and have a weight in each hand and just simply go down on one side, then the other:) search the web if you don't understand:) lol hope i helped, good luck! could you answer mine please? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090613103511AAiFAqW

do 30-45 minutes of cardio 3-5 times a week. drink 2-3 liters of water a day to cleanse your system and keep you hydrated. also try doing planks and side planks (if you don't know what these are look it up on the internet cause it's kinda hard to explain. there are plenty of videos you can look at) Good luck! :D
