Whats the difference between disorderd eating and an eating disorder?
-
So what makes my habits with food an eating disorder? I have never missed 3 periods in a row, which is criteria for being diagnosed with anorexia, I never binged per say which is criteria for being diagnose with bulimia. So, I don’t have an eating disorder. I just purge everything I eat, I just starve myself down to 98 pounds, I just think about food non-stop, I just eat laxatives like candy and I was terrified of drinking water. So what? I’m not thin enough to be anorexic, and I don’t binge so I’m not bulimic. I have been hospitalized many times for this, but why do the "experts have to put such tight limitations on diagnosis?

Answer:
It could be the eating disorder [ED-NOS]. You fit the criteria for that.
