Why does hydrogen peroxide burn after a while?

Can hydrogen peroxide really be beneficial to ingest if it can burn your friggin skin?

  • I'm reading up a lil bit about it & i'm reading that it cures some stuff & is supposed to be good to take as a 35% food grade but it will burn your skin if you touch it & you're supposed to dilute it. I feel like anything that can do that to you should NOT be ingested. Does anyone know about this & the health benefits/risks associated with it??? Thanks!!!

  • Answer:

Not the over the counter solution...but In strong concentrations it is very harmful....and very very dangerous. I worked in a fish hatchery for awhile and we used it to treat various fish illness by adding it to their water temporarily When we used the stuff out of the barrel...we had to wear goggles a respirator an apron and gloves and it would burn your skin and cloths like acid Personally I wouldn't do anything with it but clean a dirty cut However......It did cure the fish was very helpful with some gill infections H2 O2 as opposed to H2O ....Peroxide Oxidizes things Probably the most familiar free-radical is combustion. Rust is another...lol...but....I am not a chemist by a long shot
