What are some ways I can tone up my calves?

What are some good ways to tone up my thighs, calves, and stomach?

  • I'm also trying to eat healthier. What is a good diet plan? I'm 14 so it doesn't really need to be too strict of a plan. I'm not going on a diet or anything because I don't need to, just trying to get in shape for summer.

  • Answer:

Don't eat anything high in carbs before bed. That means nothing heaving like breads or pastas. The next thing is you need to try and eat several small meals a day and don't cut any meals out. It actually hurts more than helps when you miss a meal. Breakfast really is the most important meal! Also, drink plenty of water. If you don't like water because it's plain, try getting the individual packets of Crystal Light and put one in your water. They have a lot of good flavors now and it makes drinking water much easier. They are the best for water - don't fall for the "calorie free" or "vitamin rich" waters as they have sugars and other things and end up being more than 50 calories. As for exercise, I can't stress enough how important it is. Cardio exercises are great for toning your body without building muscle. Try crunches and leg lifts with a 5 to 10lb weight on top of your abs or hips to add some resistance and do more toning. You don't have to be very rigorous with this plan but it is good to keep up with some exercising and a healthy diet!

--> I'm 13, and little things like walking daily or just for a 30 min to an hour if you have a chance. Sqauts work aswell, they tone up your thigh area, and quads. Stretching can be included. Running, and walking really can help tone you up!! and your stomach area, a couple of crunches, and/or situps can tighten up your abs...!! And cut down on big portions of food. and try not to eat snacks like, chips, candy, soda, juice, etc..!! Always drink plenty of water! Holped this helps!!

You don't need to be on a diet just eat healthy like grill chicken, salmon, fruits, vegetables, no flour ( like pancakes, white bread, or pasta), and wheat (wheat bread, wheat pancakes, wheat brown rice, wheat pasta, etc). Eating healthy helps on your body staying toned and not build cellulite or fat on your body. For your thighs and calves walk up the hill on a fast pace or jog for about 20 min. That also help tone your buttocks. For your abs do the BRIDGE.

Walking 30-45 minutes a day is good for your legs calves and thighs , Your stomach ? just do some mild crunches but at your age you need to be careful about any kind of strict exercise program since your body is still growing . Good luck to you , I'm sure you don't need as much toning as you think you do

i'm 14 too. do you play a sport? if you dont, know what helps a TON with my legs? TRACK! i started this year and ive had two practices and my legs are so so so sore. but having sore legs after running is a sign of muscle growth and strengh, so im really excited. if you dont want to join a sport, you can just do what people in track do by yourself. run about a mile, stretch, do some sprints, buttkicks, high knees, etc and your legs will looks great. that will tone your thighs and calves. now for your stomach. the only way to lose fat is aerobic exercise such as running, walking, swimming, biking. to tone your stomach, do crunches, bicycle crunches, situps, etc. you can get some really good ab videos to watch on the tv that really work. now for diet plan im a big watcher of what i eat. i try to limit junk food and i dont drink soda and i limit sugar drinks. try to eat as many fruits and veggies as you can a day and grab those fro snacks instead of chips. i know exactly waht you mean by not trying to diet, just get in shape. i hope i helped!!

Running will just tire you out but walking will help alot as far as toning up your body, but if you want to get physical then walk with weights around your ankles and around your wrists and swing your arms up and forward and do that for a couple of miles a day! But if you insist on jogging? Then do it on the beach cause it takes the friction out of the jog and you won't hurt your feet or legs!

Hi hun! I have just started gym 3 weeks ago, and am finding that the cross trainer is REALLY affective ....its a bugger of a machine to use, and I really have to psych myself into it, but friends have said they can see results. As for your tummy...crunches is probably best... and eating healthier, maybe just watch your portion sizes and eat smaller meals more frequently. I'm no diet guru TRUST ME...but drink HEAPS of water too!

I do exercises but really slowly - try doing a regular sit-up or crunch but take 5 secs to go up and 5 to go back down. You'll really feel a burn! It's much more useful doing 5 this way than 50 fast ones - they will just strain your neck & back and are more cardio than muscle-toning. Cycling is good for legs but I can't do much leg work as I have problems with my knees. Hope that helps u a bit!

well for just toning then do about 50 stomach crunches every second day as this allows your muscles to re build themselves up. next thing you can do is power walk , jog or sun for at least 45mins every day or every second day another thing is basicly eat healthy
