Why are my two front teeth turning dark?

Have you had a knock to the teeth recently or are you a smoker? If you have had some kind of bang to the teeth it could be that the nerves in the teeth are slowing dying,you will need root canel treatment to save them,If your a smoker it could be a tar build up which would mean a good scale and polish and STOP SMOKING.... Have you been using something like Pearldrops (old fashioned whitening toothpaste) ? I remember when this stuff was first on the market around 20 years ago, and I don't know if it still is (I don't live in UK any longer), but in trying to whiten teeth it actually also ripped the shine off the enamel and made the teeth slightly translucent (see through) this could appear as being grey at the tip compared with the thicker middle area of the tooth. As mentioned above, Antibiotics can have an effect on the colour of the enamel, but this would happen while the teeth are forming and so you would have noticed it when your teeth erupted.

There are two possible answers to your question; (1) you are seeing tooth decay or (2) Your not brushing your teeth as well as you think you are. Tell you what, put five drops of RED food coloring in a tea spoon, rinse your mouth with it, especially around the teeth that concern you. Hold the coloring in your mouth for at least one full minute and then rinse your mouth. NOW, where ever you see RED color on "any" of your teeth you are looking at "Organic" material...i.e., plaque and left over food you failed to remove when you brushed. If it's been awhile since you have had a good dental check-up and tooth cleaning, now would be a smart time to do it. The general rule is than once a tooth begins to hurt, 50% of the damage has already been done. People wonder why Dentists don't appear to be overly concerned when a patient calls in at 4:30 PM on a Friday complaining about a hurting tooth and feel it might be abscessed. Dentist are people too and even a professional is subject to being perturbed at a patient waiting until the last minute to complain about a hurting tooth when it's common professional knowledge that the patient has been hurting to "some" degree for possibly even weeks and now it really hurts so "somebody" take pity and go out of your way to solve the problem I failed to act responsibly for......There's an old saying, "Your failure to plan ahead doesn't constitute an emergency on my part"......real professionals ignore that axiom and go out of their way to treat poor judgement and provide care to those in pain. Few people actually appreciate it., for the most part they think they deserve it. Do you or have you ever eaten one of the following coal black ink a friends hair ( dark haired friends only ) limpets If your answer is no you are probably lying or being very silly with my time and I would request that this never ever happens again.

you havent been brushing well enough, the roots of the tooth are dead or you have some sort of infection. i would suggest to call the dentist.

did you have alot of antibiotics when you were younger because this can be the side affect of them x

gum disease you need to book an appointment with your dentist before the teeth get to bad

i would say it is to do with antibiotics or medicine

it could be gingivitus or tooth decay
