What should I do after my wisdom teeth were taken out?

What kind of groceries should I buy before wisdom teeth are taken out?

  • My boyfriend is getting his wisdom teeth out on Wednesday and I am wondering what groceries we should buy this week before he has his surgery. It would have to be soft food, I am assuming. Any ideas? I don't really want to be giving him just ice cream and yogurt all week.

  • Answer:

Mashed Potatoes, Pudding, jello & ice cream. Just nothing hard. That's pretty much what you'll be living on for the next two weeks. Good luck. :)

Jellies.. And powdered mashed potato. Or just mash it yourself. When I had my teeth removed, I didn't feel like eating much anyway. But the jellies really helped, and the mash when I needed something a little more.

there are many options....soup, spinanch, ground meat (turkey or beef) mashed potatoes....a few things that come to mind.

I just had mine removed a week ago. I personally found Jelly quite difficult to eat (you'd be surprised how much chewing it takes) and ice cream completely irritated the stitches and the roof of my mouth so I ended up giving up on that too. I found the easiest was baby food, yoghurt and home made vegetable soup (blended so there were no lumps) and cottage cheese. But really, I hardly felt like eating at all, so the limited options really didn't matter all that much.

Yeah. something soft like jello and other things like potatoes {cooked}, yogert, and avoid him having any drink with straws for a few days after the surgery but avoid anything hard that will make him unconfortable

when i had mine out i did a lot of pudding, and apple sauce. you dont want him to have any thing too hot. or too cold so ice cream really isnt good for this. i found that mac and cheese was easy since it cools so fast and the noodles are pretty soft. honestly i think thats all i ate the first few days

Anything that is soft with no lumps or pieces in it. I didn't wait long enough after I had mine out and I ended up with a piece of meat getting stuck in my stitches. The dentist had to go in and remove it. Not fun.

I am getting mine out Wednesday too! Though I can't answer, this question was so helpful!

applesauce is a good choice and so is oatmeal. also soup, just careful not to get it too hot.

Jello Pudding Broth I couldn't eat for about 4 days.
