Is there more mercury in thermometers than fillings in teeth?

    The mercury in your fillings is in the form of mercury-silver amalgum; there should be very little mercury diffusing out of amalgum fillings that are in good condition. I think the pure metal is less of a problem than the soluble salts of mercury, however, I suggest you contact your doctor ASAP for advice.

I don't think they use mercury in thermometers anymore, so relax. And how does one "accidentally" swallow the contents of a thermometer, anyway? Look on the bright side: if it causes brain damage, you'll never know the difference.

Mercury in your fillings? You are how old? IF you have these fillings they need to be replaced. The mercury in the thermometer shouldnt hurt you but if you swallowed any glass fragments they might. Contact your doctor.

must've been an old thermometer, i don't think they make them with mercury anymore. Maybe it wasnt enough to harm you.

Yes, it is worse, because you do not swallow your fillings. Mercury is only bad once it gets into your brain or blood (usually through swallowing or inhalation), not while it stays in your teeth.
