Could a headache be the first symptom of wisdom teeth coming in?
-
I've been sufering from a constant headache for a week now. i wake up feeling fine but then it kicks in and gets progressively worse throughout the day. I noticed today that my wisdom tooth on the same side as the headache is tender, and I feel relief when I sort of push it to the back of my head, relieving the pressure it's putting on the adjacent molar. can I blame the headache on the wisdom tooth or should I be as worried as I have been this last week, wondering why the sudden persistant headache? thanks SO much for replying :) peace.

it may be possible but an x-ray can be more helpful

Headaches can be a sign of an abscessed tooth, but that wouldn't be the first thing I thought of. I would more suspect a sinus infection than a wisdom tooth problem. You need to see your doctor, and if the headache doesn't abate, then see your general dentist. I don't know how old you are, but you should have your wisdom teeth pulled out by your mid-20s. I did have a horrible headache one time, and the next day I woke up with a swollen cheek from an abscessed tooth. I had no dental pain, because a root canal had already been started, but I ended up losing the tooth anyway.

It certainly sounds like a nerve induced headache. They are warnings of events in the body.As wisdom teeth cause excessive pressure on adjacent teeth and the gum and other tooth nerves, and you get relief in the manner you say, a local anaesthetic applied in that area would help. See your pharmacy or GP.

generally head aches are not prima symptoms for tooth eruption, general symptoms of inflammation like rise in temperature, swelling. your tooth eruption & headaches as i feel have no connection.. consult a general physician for the head aches else NSAID'S will do. ibuprofen for three days is the preferred drug for tooth aches..

My wisdom teeth are coming in also, the first thing I noticed was that my gums felt kind of rough (like they were peeling) over the tooth. I have also had a lot of headaches, and a very stiff neck.
yes, moat likely the trooth is causing you a headache. please see ur dentist. that tooth is impacted and should be removed b4 you have any other problems with it.
