How long does pericoronitis last?

Pericoronitis for nearly 2 weeks SOO much pain !!!?

• I am a 20 year old male and have had pericoronitis for a week and 3 days i saw the dentist friday morning who prescribed amoxicillin 250 mg 3 times a day I also gargle with hydrogen peroxide every few hours ,it is now monday evening and it is still hurting and only about 15% feeling any better , the wisdom tooth is fine and not at an angle or anything and has actually been fine like this for ages without any pain , But now it feels like the top wisdom tooth is biting on the gum and causing soreness and inflammation, I don't really want a tooth extraction or the gum cut surgically away how long will this last? will it go away and heal on its own in time?

  exactly we cant say that but as such i don't think it will subside ,don't panic or get nervous it just like removing your large nails we cut it same way more tissue near the crown of tooth we need to remove the excess so that it will not impinge .don't worry and get it treated
