How do root canals look?

Help!!! Dental problems after 2 root canals.?

  • I have had 2 root canals on the same tooth in the last 3 months due to pain. The sensitivity is gone but now I have pain. The pain I have is why they did the root canal over. Well, it's been a few weeks and I still have the pain. I went to 2 different dentist for each on the root canals to get a second opinion but both root canal results were the same. Both Endodontists are very good and well respected in the community. I don't know what to do because I still have some pain but my root canal looks perfect on the xray. This is the 3rd tooth that I have had a root canal on and the 1st two teeth are fine. This tooth is painful, not sensitive. I also feel a very small bumb under that particular tooth. It is not an abcess, both detists did xrays and saw nothing, but the bump is were some of the pain comes from. Is there anyone out there that has had anything like this before? What other things could it be? Thanks

I agree with Max H. My husband just had a cyst removed yesterday from his mouth. It was an infection than had stemmed from a root canal many years ago. In the last few months it had grown so much that he had a lot of pain and it was damaging other surrounding teeth. Get it looked at again it may be the very beginning of an abscess. Good Luck!!!

You went to an endodontist where they specialize in that sort of thing, and they were paid (by you and/or your insurance) to relieve the cause of the pain you were having and STILL are.I would say,go back to one or the other and insist that they correct whatever is wrong, even if it is "that little bump" that is in pain.p.s.Always remember to take all of your antibiotics after this kind of procedure. Hope the best for you.

darling...in the abcess in the early stages dosnt show anything in the xray....since there is no bone damage.......only in late stages it appears....so u should take ANTIBIOTICS AND ANTI-INFLAMTORY DRUGS for a week at least
