IF U ARE A DENTIST please answer?

Dentist needles??? please answer if you have had one!! it would be GREATLY appreciated!!?

  • i am off to the dentist on tuesday, just for a check up. i have lots of wobbly teeth and they dont come out unless the denist pulls it out, or its takes 5 - 6 years!! i really want a needle but im scared it will hurt!! my mum and dad have had them, and they say its doesnt hurt, but i think i have sesitive gums, and dad thinks nothing hurts, and well mum doesnt have sensitive gums either/ so pretty much they think nothing hurts!! could you please send me your oppiontions on a injection by the dentist so he can pull out wobble teeth. dont worry there is other teeth behind them, so i deffinately wont look like a gummy shark!! thank you!!

    let them give you the injection. They use a gel, that looks kind of like tooth paste and put in on your gum, which numbs it, then they give you the shot, but you are already numb. It was scary my first time too...but now it is no big deal. And I am very sensitive to pain, everything hurts me and the shot didn;t hurt. good luck, you will be fine

Don't stress about it. I work for a dentist and see about 5-10 injections a day. About half of all patients are initially a little scared, but after the topical (numbing) gel is applied you shouldn't feel the needle go in - and provided the injection is done SLOWLY you probably wont feel a thing. Lots of our patients didn't even know they had the local until the numbness set in. Good luck honey - you will do just fine.

It doesn't actually hurt, it just feels uncomfortable. The "liquid" going in is the worse part. The actual needle doesn't hurt usually.

Shots in your mouth feel exactly the same as shots on any other part of your body. Its a tiny pinch feeling. All I can say is don't psych yourself out. Just go in with confidence. The more confident you are and the less scared you are, the less pain you will feel! Good Luck!!
