How long do you wear your retainers?

How long should I wait to wear my retainers again after getting my wisdom teeth out?

I'm 17 years old and I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on Monday morning, it is Wednesday night now and I have yet to wear my retainers since the surgery because I'm afraid they may rip out the stitches (I have the clear retainers that are like invisiline) or something. How much longer should I wait to wear them again? I don't want to wait too long because I'm afraid my teeth will shift (I have had my braces off for about a year now), but I am also afraid that my retainers may pull out the stitches or cause other damage.
Answer:

wait for a week after extraction.the teeth wont move without the retainer since you have been wearing it for a year now. although after a week the retainer will feel slightly tighter but within 2-3 days it will be normal.
