Dental assistant cover letter-HELP.?
-
I am applying for a Dental Assistant/receptionist position and am in need of a somewhat cover letter; being informal at the same time as professional? A great friend of mine knows this dentist, as she said she would interview me. There is not an actual opening in the office, as she would be making one for me. I want to make sure they know I have no experience or schooling (at one point i was familiar with some dental terminology) but obviously very enthusiastic to learn! I am also going to school for Dental Hygiene, If they need to know that. Anyway, I am not sure what to put, or where to start? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance!!

Answer:
Dear Whoever: I am very much looking forward to interviewing with you. I know that working at Dr. X's office will be the first step for me in what I hope to be a long career in dentistry. As I am a dental hygiene student at the moment, I am bringing some formal education with me; I know I will get valuable hands-on experience working with Dr. X., as well as becoming an upbeat, goal-oriented team member in the office. I know this will be a mutually beneficial experience, and I thank you again for the opportunity to join Dr. X's staff. Sincerely, -----------

You need schooling to work as a Dental Assistant. Some places will hire a Dental Receptionist with no experience, but most office will prefer that you have taken the course. These are some dental cover letter templates you can use, you will need to alter them. http://www.bestsampleresume.com/resume-cover-letters/dental-assistant-resume-cover-letter.html Yes just make sure you tell them you're a Chairside Assistant. A Dental Assistant has completed the schooling and a Chairside has not. Good luck! :)
