health.Contemplating getting trained to become a Dental Assistant, but have read that Dentists and Dental Assistant are exposed to Mercury??

Answer:
The amount of Mercury you are exposed to is minimal, and not one of your biggest concerns. White fillings are more common now anyway. Some other concerns are that you take a lot of x-rays, and you work with a lot of chemicals to clean the rooms and instruments. Also you are working in peoples mouths where you come into contact with blood and saliva and have to be careful because of the diseases that they may carry like Hepatitis C or Aids. After cleaning up a dental tray one day I accidentally pricked myself with a used needle, and had to go get tested the same day.
