Does it hurt to have a permanent retainer removed?

Braces removed tomorrow!?

• well i've had braces for a year and 4 months and my orthodontist told me that he'll remove my braces 'tomorrow' if my teeth are ready, what will happen if they are not ready to be removed? if they are ready how are braces taken off? and will it hurt, i got told they smell really bad, is that true? also i'll be getting a fixed retainer on the bottom teeth and hawley on the top, will i need molds and pictures as done before braces were put on? and last of all, Any information you ca give me? thankyou!

  well i can give you this, if your teeth aren't ready then the dentist will simply just leave your teeth how they are with the brace and if they're the same perhaps a couple of months later he may change or tweak your brace a little (make it tighter or make the wire thicker to ensure that your teeth move correctly. If they are ready then the dentist will simply take them out, perhaps a little pain may be felt. and he will give you a brace like retainer for you to wear too keep your teeth in shape on the teeth that had the braces, then after a few months he will give you a clear retainer for you too keep permanently hope this helped.
