How do Veneers fix crooked teeth?

• I know what veneers are, there crowns or molds that fit over your teeth, but how do they fix crooked teeth? You see I have a tooth that's pushed back a small tooth and a gap in between two teeth, so how do veneers fix that? I'm going to get braces but I was wondering how much veneers cost and do you do it in one treatment or is it over several?

  You are better off getting the braces. Veneers do not really fix crooked teeth, they merely give them the appearance of being straight. Braces move the teeth correctly using gentle forces that move all of the teeth into the correct positions so that they fit well into each other when you bite. This is hard to accomplish with veneers, plus with veneers the roots are not straight as they are with braces. Veneers are for people who cannot afford braces or who do not want to go through orthodontic treatment, but believe me, you are better off having the braces and having it done right.
