How do you whiten your teeth?

How do I whiten my teeth?

  • Hello there My teeth have always been quite pearly and shiny but since I ate more things like Wotsits and crisps and fig rolls etc. my teeth have become a yellow sort of colour. Does that give me a sign of bad teeth? I always brush my teeth very thoroughly every morning and evenong and up to my gums to clean off the bacteria. I used floss butthat doesn't really whiten your teeth, neither does Pearl Drops or Colgate which are supposed to be very fresh minty toothpaste. Chewing Gum doesn't do it either. My dentist suggested floss but I told her that doesn't work. It gets rid of tiny bits stuck in your gums though, but my teeth however are pulling quite close but I always use a toothpick. Any other suggestions please? Give me as much detail as you can. Thanks! :)

Hydrogen peroxide. My teeth are always super white and i use it as a mouth rinse after i brush. It doesn't taste great at first but then you get used to it. Don't drink it just swish it around and through your teeth. And it's inexpensive!

My dentist suggested Listerine Tooth Defense to me. It's a mouthwash but it helps get rid of white spots on your teeth and helps make your smile brighter and whiter. It really, really works too. Also Crest White Strips will do it. All of my friends who have had braces use that once they got their braces off since that will dull the whiteness of your teeth no matter how much you brush. They really give you extremely white teeth too. Hope I helped!

First of all, start eating plenty of fresh fruit and veg--seriously! Strawberries, apples and citrus fruits are surprisingly good at giving your teeth a whiter color, but you have to eat them often and regularly over a long period of time. The other thing I would suggest (I assume you are in the US?) is using a pre-brushing whitening rinse, such as the one from Listerene (white bottle). You should first floss, then use the whitening rinse, then brush your teeth (with a battery-operated or electric brush), and then immediately rinse again with an antisceptic mouthwash like Listerene. Do this routing morning and night, and if you can brush after lunch, that helps too (or just eat some fruit). I have been doing this for a few months and I have noticed my teeth are much brighter now. And it's cheaper (and looks more natural) than those bleaches which weaken your tooth enamel. I hope this helps!
