Monthly swollen glands and sore gums- what could it be?
-
For about a year I have been getting a really swollen gland and a sore spot on my lower gums on the left side of my mouth. This occurs usually once a month right before my period and lasts a week or longer. I thought it might be my wisdom tooth trying to come in but I had them out a few months ago and it has only gotten worse! It feels like my whole left side of my upper throat/lower mouth is sore, swollen and itchy. Any idea what this could be? I did some searching and discovered something called "menstruation gingivitis" but it says nothing about swollen glands or only one sore spot/side of the mouth. Also, I brush regularly and visit the dentist and have had no previous problems with gingivitis.
