How long can I go without wearing my retainers?

I was at my cousin's house for a family party Thursday night, and I accidentally left my retainers there. Going back and retrieving them is not all that feasible, so my father said he would pick it up on his way home from work today. Sadly, he forgot, and now he promises to go get it Saturday night. How long can I go that my teeth will not have shifted enough for the retainers not to fit anymore? Is the length of 2 days straight a "safe" amount of time, that my retainers will still fit when I get them back? I am extremely worried.
Answer:

I've gone about a week without them because my brother was in hospital so we had to rush 2 hours away to see him. They'll be okay, just a bit achey when you put them back in.

Hi, 2 days should be fine, but get them back on asap. Even if the your teeth have slipped out of place a little. The discomfort of the retainer going back in will soon pull them right into position.
