Is studying dental hygiene difficult?

Dental Hygiene and Business Administration?

  • I am attending a community college and even thought im still thinking of what i want to be, i would like to know more about this two careers and if this is a good idea. Im thinking in getting an Associates Degree in Business Administration in a community college but i'm also interested in Dental Hygiene because it is a high paying job but would it be a good idea to finish my Business Administration AAS and then go into getting an associates in Dental Hygiene? is it a good idea to have both degrees? Can i become a dentist after i get my Associates in Dental Hygiene. I cannot join the school of dental hygiene until Fall 2010 so i thought that i could finish Business Administration and then do Dental Hygiene but what do you guys recommend. Should i stick to one or do both? If a do both, would a Bachelor Degree in Dental Hygiene help? Thanks in advance! P.S.: What are some careers that go along with Dental Hygiene. Can I get a bachelors in something else after doing Dental Hygiene? Maybe Biology?

  • Answer:

In some states you can own your own practice as a Dental Hygenist. My sister went to a 4yr school and recieved her Dental Hygiene license. She just graduated and is making $35 an hour and loves her job. She works M-T 7:00-4:00. If you can't start your progam until 2010 I would finish your BA degree and then continue on the Dental Hygiene. You can never have enough education and it will also look great when applying for jobs.
