Why do fillings cost so much?

I'm going to the Dentist tomorrow. How much should 3 tooth colored fillings cost? I do not know what to expect

  • I just went to a dentist a few weeks ago & I was miserable with him. I had the x-rays & the examination. I wanted my cavities filled. He had zero personality so rather than go back, I just went to a new one today & scheduled an appt. for the morning. I explained that I have gone through & paid for the initial consultation with someone else. I will have to pay for another exam, but they are allowing me to bring my x-rays I have with me. Things is, I have no idea what this is going to cost me for 3 fillings. $100? $1000? I just don't know what to expect. Any help is appreciated.

    Without insurance I'd guess about $250-300. Some offices give you a small (5-10%) discount if you aren't insured. Good luck... hope the new dentist is nicer!

Anywhere from $300 on up. I would say $600 max. Depends on size of filling, where you live, what your dentist charges

i would guess between 45-65 a filling plus the novicane etc... you're prob looking at about 300 bucks. I am guessing form my experience

About $100 per filling. I have had teeth recently filled, and the cost was $100-125 per filling. Chow!!

you should look into those dental insurance where you pay a minimal fee for each thing that they do in the dental office.. you can search the internet for individual dental insurance.. it only covers part of the cost.. but it's much better. I got one "goldenwest" but I don't know if it covers your state.. but office visits are fee. filling is like 30 each.. otherwise you'll end up paying an arm and a leg! good luck.

Depending on where you live, expect it to run $300.00 with the exam.
