Would I still need braces after tooth implant?

Braces and crown or implant?

  • I had braces at 14 where a tooth growing above the rest was moved down, (had 2 baby teeth without adult teeth behind them) removed one baby tooth and the other baby tooth was moved to the center of the gap to get a crown put on. But stuff happened and its now its almost 15 years later and I never got the crown put on even though I wore my retainer for a year after my baby tooth has moved flush against the tooth next to it. There's a small gap where it looks like I'm missing a tooth. :( I'm weird and loved my braces and was sad to get them off so I would love to have them again. But I know its so expensive. I know insurance would need to be considered but would it be less costly to get an implant vs braces and a crown? (assuming my dentist would recommend me to an ortho) Any other advice/ opinions welcome

  • Answer:

An implant and crown would be cheaper than braces for sure. Depending on insurance, I still think it is cheaper.
