How do I stop bleeding noses?

How to stop the hole where I got my wisdom tooth removedto stop bleeding?

• I got my wisdom teeth removed 12 hours ago and only one hole won't stop bleeding. It was the only tooth that was impacted and I have been putting gauze over it and I'm not lying down flat and keeping my head elivated and that helps stop the bleeding until I eat something or when drink something and try to swallow it and when I fall asleep and I just woke up from a nap and it was bleeding like crazy! Does that mean ive loosened the blood clot or ruined anything the oral surgeon did? Any tips for preventing it from bleeding while I'm sleeping will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

  Apart from putting a gauze pack on tooth extraction socket, you can also bite on moist tea bags for bleeding to stop. Tea bags have tannic acid present which causes vasoconstriction and will stop the bleeding. If bleeding is very profuse, then you can visit your dentist in the morning. Sleep with head elevated position and avoid rinsing mouth vigorously and don't rinse mouth too much.
