Are there any biodegradable elastics?

Should i stop/start wearing my elastics? (braces)?

• Last month my dentist gave me a new pack of elastics and because i was impatient i asked him if i could wear double. He was reluctant but i feel i pushed him so he agreed. I regret doing that because i feel i have disrupted the process and should've just let him do his job. Because, i have been wearing strong double elastics religiously and now my top jaw has shifted too much to the left..meaning that my two front teeth are not in line with the two bottom teeth...they are to the left. The elastics were to close my slight overbite...i still have a slight overbite. except my jaw has shifted to the left. should i stop wearing elastics so it doesn't shift even more? should i just do what he agreed to? should i wear one?   Never wear your elastics double. It may seem to make sense, but will actually SLOW DOWN tooth movement and your progress.. I suggest to wear your elastic the way your orthodontist instructed you to do. After all, he is the one fixing your teeth.
