How painful are braces ?

9.326 when you first get them on for like a week, then about a 6 each time you get them tightened. and about a .023 the whole time you have them on.

Braces are not painful once you adjust to them initially. It is the adjustments that are painful for a day or two.

Mild ache, but only when you first get them and when they are tightened. It only lasts for a couple days and goes away if you take tylenol.

9 at first, but as you get used to them, they don't hurt at all. The first day is killer, eat lots of ice cream.

A little sore for the first day or so after they tighten them. They are VERY much worth the pain! It's not that bad. You really do get used to it.

When they start tightening them, then the pressure is pretty bothersom, especially when eatting. I was so skinny when I had braces since I hated to eat when they hurt! I give it an 9.5.

3... it is more uncomfortable and your teeth might "ache" after having the brackets tightened. It has been a long time since I've had them on, but I actually remember spacers (the rubber band-like things they used in order to put spaces between teeth) hurting more. Also, if the brackets irritate the inside of your mouth, they can give you clear wax to put over the bracket and that way it won't irritate your mouth. I remember having that problem initially, but only for a couple days after getting braces on. You'll do just fine!

i'd say about a 7 or 8 but thats only when they get tightened otherwise they really arent that bad
