How well are you supposed to rinse your mouth out after brushing?

Are you supposed to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth?

  • What about before you start brushing too?

  • Answer:

I was always told by dentists to avoid rinsing for at least 10 minutes to allow the toothpaste to really dig in and do its job. I've personally stopped rinsing after brushing. Only after flossing do I rinse.

Rinse and floss your mouth before you start brushing to get rid of food debris, brush, and then rinse your mouth.

Yes rinse with water after using toothpaste or mouthwash to get the taste out of your mouth. There is no point in rinsing before.

Yes. This is my actual practice, after brushing my teeth, I rinse my mouth with a mouthwash and then I rinse with water, to remove any after taste in my mouth. So, I brush, then rinse with mouthwash, then rinse with water. Good luck to you.

Yes to wash the toothpaste and debris away. If using mouthwash no, as you loose the benefits of the mouthwash. No point in using it else.

Yeah with water to remove the toothpaste, then with mouth wash - but I never know whether to rinse with water after rinsing with mouthwash? I have answered your question with a question of my own - SORRY! x

Rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth - it's bad for you to swallow toothpaste. I don't see why you should rinse your mouth before, but it won't do you any harm XD
