How long does it take for your wisdom teeth to grow?

How long do wisdom teeth normally take to grow through?

  • Answer:

Sometimes they can take years. & sorry 2 tell U this, once they start 2 grow they keep on growing. Meant 2 grind off 1 another, so if U have some removed they should all B removed.

some never do

I'm sorry to say but most actually never fully appear unless the tooth in front of it is removed. If they are causing you problems the I suggest you ask your dentist to remove them as they can cause a lot of underlying problems.

Normal and teeth should not appear in the same sentence. My wisdom teeth popped out and in over a period of several years. I would go for check-ups and the nurse would question the calling out of teeth as what has been there the last time would change. All four stayed out, partially at least, by the time I was 24. Two never fully emerged.

They should be through by the time your 30, however sometimes they lie dormant for years and sometimes they do not come through at all. See your dentiset if you are having bother.

There's no real answer to this I am sorry to say as everyone is different. It is down to when the little blighters want to come out. I am in my late twenties and still have't had them, I have one that is half way through and incredibily painful. Feels like I am teething all over again.

Mine have been coming through for 7 years.

It depends on the location and position of the teeth. Some are positioned sideways or at an angle where it cannot come up to erupt through the gums. In that case, then they will not grow through. If they are in the correct position and have room to grow through then they can erupt anywhere from age 17-24. I know this is a vague answer but there really isn't a clear cut age when they will or won't come through. It really depends on the individual. You can have a dentist take an xray to look at the teeth and their position to estimate when and if they will come through. Good luck!
