What is the Best Teeth Whitener?

What is the best teeth whitener?.. (please don't suggest crest)?

  • I am looking for a nice teeth whitener. Please do not suggest crest, They hurt like heck. Or if you have any home remedies or tips, that would be fine. Thanks a lot!

  • Answer:

Chewing aluminum foil is really bad for your teeth. If you aren't chewing it that sounds like home made dental trays. Just dip a wet toothbrush into baking soda and brush with that once or twice a day. The powder will polish your teeth without scratching the enamel.

I totally understand what you mean about Crest hurting...I just got done using them for 10 days and after every application I felt like I had cavities and had to go to the dentist!! They make your teeth so sore....but they do work. I looked all over the internet and found these homemade natural remedies for teeth whitening...looks interesting and easy :) ~ The aluminum foil with baking soda will work if you're comfortable enough to wear it. Good luck!! ~ ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~… Use citrus fruits. Some people have success with rubbing strawberries over the teeth. Another option is to mash the strawberries in a bowl, add a little water, and then use the paste the way you would toothpaste. Rubbing the inside of an orange peel against the teeth is another way to whiten teeth. These fruits remove stains which make teeth look whiter. Brush teeth with naturally acidic substances. With this method you brush your teeth with lemon juice, white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. The acid breaks down the stains on the teeth. Create homemade pastes. Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide is a well known teeth whitener that is recommended by some dentists. The baking soda's texture offers an abrasive quality that can remove stains; hydrogen peroxide is a mild acid and natural bleaching agent like the peroxide in hair color. Another paste is salt (either table salt or rock salt) and lemon juice. The salt offers the abrasive quality and the lemon juice's acidic properties helps to whitens the teeth. A salt and water paste is also an easy to make teeth whitener. Use herbs to whiten teeth. Rub walnut tree bark on your teeth. You can also grind dried bay leaves into a powder and then add dried orange peels. Add water to the mixture and use as a paste. Wood ash and water is another popular paste. Use your imagination. All the items mentions above (lemon juice, salt, baking soda and vinegar) can be combined to form a paste. Try what appeals to you or what is readily available. Make a mouth tray. This is a cheaper version of the trays you can buy. Tear off a section of aluminum foil that you can place around your teeth. Add a paste mixture to the aluminum foil and place it securely around your teeth. Leave on for one hour or for as long as it is comfortable. This method is effective because the whitening substance stays on your teeth longer. Eat more fruits and vegetables. While this is a good idea to improve overall health, dentists suggest eating celery, cucumbers, broccoli and pineapple because these foods can help to remove stains from the teeth.

Seriously, ask your dentist before you do any of that. The aluminum foil/baking powder thing you suggest sounds very much like the way people used to polish silver - it causes an electrlytic function that will change the surface of your teeth, and most likely weaken the enamel. Same thing with anything acidic - it etches the enamel, which then makes it rough, and loows more staining. Talk to your dentist, and aks which whitestrips product is safe, before you go and ruin your teeth for all time.

No one's teeth are naturally white. They are different shades of white so you can never really get 100% white teeth. But there are products which can help you remove stains and give your teeth a cleaner look. The best way is to go to a dentist and pay for a teeth whitening treatment. But that is generally reserved for people who have badly stained teeth or people who have had their braces recently removed. For an average person, there are several solutions available in the market. The most popular are whitening strips. They are popular because they are the easiest to apply. But they may not be the most effective. I tried out strips but they didn't work for me because they kept coming off, and they take way too long to make an affect. I resorted to using baking soda and bleach but it was too painful. The best solution I have come across is the teeth whitening tips. It’s the closest thing to what the dentist use. It’s a powder you apply on your teeth using tips, which removes stains and such. I used it for a week with good results I saw the ad on CNN.
