Does anyone know a site that I can go to, to get this kind of information?

Here is part of the story! This is long and I'm sorry about that, but if you have the time please read and if you think that you can help me, please answer and PLEASE STAR, so my contacts can also see this and answer, just in case they may be able to help! Again, Thank You to those who answer and really try to help! This is what is happening now! I need to find a site where they have testimonials from patients for certain Oral Surgeons. I have to have some very extensive and very painful Oral Surgeries done on my mouth and my hip, that it's going to take about 1 year or more to recover from, to correct a very serious series of mistakes, another Oral Surgeon made. I have Facial Collapse of 3 inches! I have lost almost all of my Jawbone on my bottom Jaw and the Nerves on my bottom Jawbone that I do have left, are exposed and causing me tremendous pain. My dentist is the only one who has tried to help me and has me on Vicodin ES, which the strongest pain medication that he is allowed to prescribe for me as a dentist! It takes the edge off, but it doesn't last long and the pain is still there and constant! I cannot eat anything at all, unless I can just swallow it, because if I bite down on anything or put any kind of pressure on my bottom jawbone, I hit the nerves in my Jawbone and I hit the ceiling in pain. I was also told by my dentist that the slightest amount of pressure can break my Jawbone in half because there is very little bone left! I have lost a tremendous amount of weight and this is beginning to affect my health. I have also lost some bone on my top Jawbone! They have to open me up and remove bone from my Hip and put it in my Jaw, to replace the bone that has been lost, in order for me to have enough bone, for them to go back in again, after the bone is put in my jaw and healed and do more Implants, which is my one and only option! I am not looking forward to this and I'm scared to death! The Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeon that I am seeing now, has a great big Ego problem and the personality of a Donkey's A**, refuses to provide any kind of Pain Management, doesn't know how to communicate and I refuse to go back to him and let him touch my mouth. This Oral Surgeon is also not communicating at all, with my Dentist either, who is an Awesome man and a very gentle and caring individual and is also going to be involved in some of the work that is being done on me! He needs to know what is going on! He's going to try to call this OS again today and then he's going to call me and let me know what's going on, that is if he can even get any answers from this OS! When he tries to call my present Oral Surgeon, he gets NO RESPONSE FROM HIM EITHER, which I found out yesterday, so it's time to find another surgeon. I don't know what this Oral Surgeons problem is and my dentist cannot figure out why he's being like this either! After all I've been through in the past with my mouth I was Petrified of Dentists, until I met the Dentist that I am seeing now, who I have No Fear of whatsoever! He makes me feel very comfortable and relaxed in his office! He is the only one who is really trying his best to try and help me, but there is a limit on what he can do! He's done work on my mouth in the past, he is very gentle and does a Beautiful Job, so I do trust him! Him I am definitely staying with and he is also trying to help me with this situation with finding another Oral Surgeon. I spoke to my dentist about this Oral Surgeon yesterday and I told him how I was being treated and how I did not want to go back to him. He agreed that no Dr. should treat their patients this way, that his Bedside Manner and attitude, is a very big problem, that he is losing a lot of patients because of it and that I should not go back and said he will help me find someone else who is just as good, but with a better attitude who really cares. Many other people that I know that have seen my present Oral Surgeon, have also left him and gone to someone else, because of his attitude toward his patients. My dentist, has referred me to 3 other Oral Surgeons that he has worked together with and knows very well. 2 of these Oral Surgeons are quite a long distance from my house! The third, who my dentist says is very Easy Going and an Excellent Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeon, is very near my house, he say's that he would be perfect for my situation, so it looks like I'm going to be going to him! It's a really long and very involved story! Here how this whole mess started! I'm really Sorry, I should have started this question with this part first and the top part last, but here is part of the story anyway! I think you will get the idea of what is going on! All of this was caused by another Oral Surgeon who at the time (20 years ago) came highly recommended by a different Dentist I was seeing, but the work he did almost killed me and I'm still paying for it today. I will probabl

Answer:
I'm certainly sorry to hear about your troubles. It does sound as though, if you can trust your dentist, the best thing to do is to go with someone he has previously worked with and recommends. The best site I have found regarding recommendations for oral surgeons is here: http://www.wellness.com/find/oral%20surgeon/fl Of course, as is the circumstance many times, satisfied patients are sometimes less likely to take their time and offer a recommendation; where as unsatisfied patients generally do speak up. I see very few reviews on this site, at all, but perhaps you would be able to find someone in your area who does have a review. Also, it seems to give fairly extensive information on each practice, which I like.

I am not sure about dentist, but doctors you file a complaint with the Board of Healing Arts. Call random dentist and ask them where you report a bad dentist, and they should give you a number to some kind of board, (everyone answers to some body) the dentist are certainly licensed by someone. I would also call your attorney generals office and the better business bureau. Dentist are tricky, they can come highly recommended and yet still do a bad job. I think your medical doctor can prescribe something for pain, ask your current dentist about that. Still praying for you all and Zoe and Gizmo and your other Chi's
