Is it bad to chew on ice?

  • everytime i get home all i do is dig in the freezer and atleast eat 50 ice cubes a day...i'm curious if its bad or what it can cause??

Stop! Chewing on ice is horrible for your teeth! It causes microscopic cracks that allow staining to occur, bacteria into your teeth, and eventually breakage. Please, try straws or something.

yes. it can cause your teeth damage. it can crack them over time. It makes them loose. sucking on it isnt bad.

yes it is bad for your teeth. your teeth can no handle the pressure of the hard ice cubes. it is really bad for any fillings (can cause them to pop out). I know this because my mother gets told this every time she sees the dentist (see chews on ice also).

That's pretty rough on your teeth; if you have any weak spots at all, sooner or later one will break. I suggest trying some sugar-free gum instead.
