  • Answer:

You sound pretty immature. Airsoft isn't a kid's sport. Wait until you're 14 or 15.

They are not dangerous but your friends are! just make sure they dint shoot you because mine shot me all the time with them, they didnt hurt that much it just stings sort of like getting pinched only really fast but I didnt know why you are getting one I mean what are you gonna do with a BB gun let alone just 1 gun? your friend can buy some but shooting each other isn't fun and everyone cheats and nobody ever wins lol oh and the guns break fast so dont waste your money unless all you wanna do is target practice. but target practice is pretty fun it was helpful shutting up my neighbors nuisance Chihuahua haha >:)

Obviously your parents have the final say but if you just want a gun to shoot at targets you won't be getting into the "dangerous" automatic guns or high fps sniper rifles. You'll most likely just want a cheap springer. If you're interested in actually playing a game your probably gonna wanna wait til you're 16 as that's when most fields will let you play and you can worry about a better gun if it comes to that. Just remember even though airsoft isn't fatal, it can still blind somebody or draw blood and most importantly, despite having orange tips, police officers will not be able to tell the difference between an airsoft gun and a real gun so you must treat it that way and use common sense. Best of luck to you!

My saying is just use common sense, tell your mom if you ever mistreat the gun or use it the way your not supposed to, then she can take it away. 1. don't aim at people. 2. only use outside with a specified target. 3. always wear special gear like at least glasses because the ricochet/bounce off of walls and could hurt someone. 4. If your have common sense then for all means tell your mom that your not stupid. 5. Don't let your little brother see it or know where you hide it, moms tend to get paranoid when little kids are in the house. I can see why cuz it may not be your fault but your little brother might get curious and try to look for it. stupidity-0 common sense-1

OK, first of all airsoft guns are just BB guns but way less harmful. You can get a dangerous gun however, look at the FPS, the higher it is the harder it shoots. 150 is the lowest I've seen and that would probably tickle you if you shot someone with that who was 15 or so feet away. 350 FPS can barely dent a shoe box and a lot of airsoft guns come with glasses to wear so you don't hurt your eyes.

There is so much to know about Airsoft Guns. Find out what the laws are in your state involving Airsoft Guns. Many states have laws about where they can and cannot be fired and some states have age regulations as well. In the United States you must be 18 years old to purchase an Airsoft Gun by mail, online, or in a store. This not only goes for Airsoft Guns, but also Airsoft Gun accessories like spare clips and magazines and Airsoft ammunition. This means if you don't have your parents permission to own an Airsoft Gun that you are not getting one. Some states also have maximum FPS speeds that Airsoft Guns can reach in the state, make sure you know the laws for your state! Airsoft Guns shoot plastic BB's. You should always wear proper face protection (glasses or goggles or a full face protection shield such as those used in paintball) when playing with an Airsoft Gun. Wearing face protection is the best way to prevent injuries, If you don't wear eye protection, injury can occur. The most common types of injuries involving Airsoft Guns are: eye injuries (sometimes even those that cause loss of sight in a single eye), skin welts, and chipped teeth. Other injuries that are caused by Airsoft Guns are usually unfortunate when they are mistaken for real guns, and the person holding the Airsoft Gun ends up getting shot when the other person, or even a police officer, thinks they are threatened by the presence of a gun, which in reality turns out to be an Airsoft Gun. This is the very reason that all Airsoft Guns in the United States must have an orange tip and you should never attempt to remove or alter the orange tip on any Airsoft Gun. Most states have laws that require Airsoft Guns to be used only in specific areas. Examples include that they should not be used in city streets, should only be used in Airsoft Fields, should only be used in Airsoft Parks, or can only be used on private land with the owner's permission. It's important that you know the laws and regulations in your state before using an Airsoft Gun. The dedicated Airsoft places like parks and fields generally have a minimum age requirement for participants. That minimum age is 13 years old in most cases, though there are facilities that require participants to be 16 years or older, and some facilities do not allow minors under the age of 18 years old at all. It's important that you know the age requirements for the facility that you plan to frequent with your Airsoft Gun. Basic Airsoft Guns can be purchased relatively inexpensively (under $20) at most stores like Walmart, Big 5, and Sports Authority. These Airsoft Guns are generally low end, low powered Airsoft Guns and most of them are single shot pistols. While these may seem like great starter weapons, they can jam easily, are hard to repair when they malfunction, and if you are a heavy Airsoft user you can easily go through 5-8 of them and the cost can sometimes exceed the price of a better quality Airsoft Gun. Kids who start out with a single shot Airsoft Pistol generally get tired of them pretty quickly and end up upgrading to a semi automatic Airsoft assault weapon. Some higher end Airsoft Guns can cost hundreds of dollars, but if you are going to stick with Airsoft for a long time, then you might want to invest in a better gun. The official age rating on Airsoft Guns is 16 years of age or older. This is what age group you will find on Airsoft Gun packages of popular brands. Those with lower age groups specify 14 years of age or older. Since the minimum age at Airsoft arenas is 13 years old, I would recommend that no one under the age of 13 years old play with Airsoft Guns. If your parents think you are responsible enough to handle an Airsoft Gun, and that you can be trusted with one, then it's the right time to get one. If they don't, or if they are unsure, then I would say wait until you are the minimum age of 13 before using an Airsoft Gun. Personally, I would not give a 12 year old an Airsoft Gun, but that's just my opinion.
