What is the best way to clean LEGO bricks?

Is Lego losing it's creativity?

  • When I was a ki I loved Lego. I could spend hours and hours just making little buildings even though I only had a few bricks. My collection eventually grew and I would start getting sets with people and cars/spaceships, etc. But know when I go to the store to buy Lego, I don't see kids picking out fun sets, I see them obsessing over a certain theme, and saying things like "Mom I need this set because this guy is really good at fighting" etc. Which I think means that kids aren't into Lego for the creativity, but they just want the themed sets that go with it. I mean, kids are begging their parents to get a $80.00 set that builds into a spaceship just so they can get a character and a spaceship. You can't even build something else if you take it apart. It just seems like Lego does not appeal to kids for creativity, but for the themed sets and characters. Is Lego going to stop making creative sets with lots of details in favour of cheap gimmicks that kids play with for a day? There is no way that a kid who obsesses over the 1 Jedi in a $150.00 set will ever become an adult fan.

I know what you mean. I just feel like kids are only liking certain Lego characters/avatars maybe because of the Lego video games (star wars, batman, etc). I miss the old days of just having a crap load of blocks and building whatever you could think of. Hopefully kids are keeping their creativity alive some how and Lego will go back to it's roots.

I am with Bog, also, a new way to use legos is by making Lego videos! They are neat and they surely improve your imagination skills.
