How to make a teddy bear?

How do i make my teddy bear softer? (please read description!)?

  • a few years or so ago, my mum washed my favorite bear but she used the washer and drier instead of by hand so now it's fir is no were close to being as soft as it was before... this is what my bear looks like -> http://www.plunderhere.com/thumbnail.php?pic=http://www.plunderhere.com/oldsite/auction/auction/images/imgupld/434447_1.jpg&w=500&sq=Y&b=Y (im surprised i found a picture of one, considering its about 10 or so years old...) i've herd that letting it sit in water for 15 minutes then air drying it would help, but im not sure if that's true...not to mention i don't want to accidentally ruin it.

  • Answer:

Cute bear! I wouldn't put your stuffed animal in water. You have no idea how that's going to effect its fur, as a matter of fact it may make its fur fall out! Instead, just use a hair dryer on it on high. Or, do what I do when my stuffed animals are getting flat fur -- take it to a build-a-bear workshop. They have a stuffed animal grooming station with a "bathtub" (really just a plastic tub with hard stream of air coming out of the "faucets") and different combs for different bear types. It's free to use and you can make your plushies so fluffy!
