How do you reset a pokewalker?

I lost the game that my pokewalker originally went with. It still has a pokemon in it and i want to sync it with my new soulsilver. I can't find the game it originally went with so i cant send it back and my new game wint accept it. I tried taking out the battery but it didn't do anything. I don't care if i lose the pokemon, how do i fix this?
