Are Silly Bandz Illegal or Something?

I heard about the Silly Bandz ban, and I was just wondering if they are illegal or something to wear in the state of Maine, or just at schools. I know they're just silly little bracelets, but I still thing this thing is stupid. If they don't want things to be distracting, take away cell phones. If they don't want kid's circulation to be cut off, ban all bracelets. Don't you agree?

They're only banned in some schools. They aren't illegal, and a majority of schools (both in Maine and other places in the USA) still allow them.
