I take it your dad removed the enclosed booklet before he gave it to you then? There used to be a book sold in WH Smith called 'How to solve the Rubik's Cube' with a yellow cover. You need to find it and take a peek. If it's out of print, how about a games type shop or the games section in Waterstones? Otherwise you better start practising. Hint: Try the web first.

You could take it apart and put it together again in the right order it's designed for that, though if you bought one of the new 10th anniversary Rubik Cubes they come with the solution guide so just read that.
