How do you paint blood and rust?

Is there any way to get rust off of paint on an old metal wagon?

• I just got a hold of an old metal wagon w/ off road tires -- it's pretty cool looking -- but, it's in very bad condition with a Lot of rust on the paint -- is there any way to remove the rust off the paint w/o ruining the original paint job or w/o having to repaint the whole wagon? It's a red wagon. And does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get this wagon to look like new again?? Please NO FUNNY remarks -- I'm being serious and I'm trying to learn how to fix things so I'd appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions on what I can do to fix this wagon. The wheels on this wagon roll extremely smoothly and the bottom of the wagon looks to be in excellent condition as well -- it's just the whole top part that needs a whole lot of TLC.

  There is no way to take off rust and have good paint underneath... The rust has taken over. You can restore it like brand new though. First you'll need to sand down the whole wagon with 120 grit sandpaper. Next you apply rust inhibitor, use as directed. Then get metal primer... Use a paint brush to apply ... Not a spray can. Apply paint next... I prefer a spray can, just coat evenly. Last, apply 2-3 coats of spray on clear coat. Your wagon will be brand new.
