Card trick Help Please!!!!?

  • Okay so my friend showed me an awesome trick but he wont show me how to do it. I told him I was going to figure it out somehow from the computer and I cant find it so I'm gonna write down what the trick is and I HOPE someone will tell me how to do it or at least something similar. I have this friend named Joe(picks up a card from the top of a full deck to show everyone Joe. Then puts it back on top) I'm new in town and Joe is the only one I know so I figure the best way to meet people is to throw a party, Now I need guys at my party so I need to find Joe so he can help me find guys. ( Puts deck in front of someone-anyone-and says cut the deck please. Then he takes the pile back into his hand) So I go 1 block 2 block(however many are needed to get to what hes looking for) and pass a CVS on the corner and (he lays down several cards for each block and then...) then the next card he lays down is Joe and he says here is Joe And I say to Joe, Hey I need guys for my party. And Joe says yeah man I already got you covered and he gives me 1, 2, 3, 4 guys( he lays down 4 kings) and I say thanks Joe, here is a 2 dollar tip ( and then the next card is a 2.) There is a lot more but I figure you would know from that if you do know it. HELP PLEASE.

    simple, he has a rigged deck. you never said he shuffled the deck, and you said he looks for the cards he needs. so bassically, he keeps the deck in the same order and doesnt mix the cards up.

I think this is similar to a trick that I know, where you need to have cards that have a picture on the back or something that identifies one way up from another (the less obvious the better though). Put all the cards so that the they are the same way up when looking from the back. Then arrange the cards with joe on top, then the four kings, ten the two etc. When you pick up joe to show people make sure you put the card down the other way round from the next card down (and therefore also all the other cards in the deck too). Then when you get someone to split the deck you keep going through the number of blocks until you see the other-way-round card which you know is Joe, then you can continue the story. The more attention you put on the story and keep away from the deck, the less likely people are to notice that all pictures are the same way up. Only seems obvious once you know the trick.
