Could you Counter a Continuous Trap by using a Counter Trap Card?

  • For example, If Des CounterBlow was on the field and I attack my opponent directly with a monster and Des CounterBlow activated, can I counter it with Destruction Jammer? The only reason why im asking this question because I did this to someone and he said no you can't do that and I said yes you can because I counter it. So can you do that or not and please explain why.

  • Answer:

    It all depends on when you activate it. If you activate a counter-trap as soon as a continuous is flipped up then yes, it can be negated. If you don't activate anything then the continuous is already active and you aren't allowed to negate its effects later.

You can't because destruction jammer is at activation, thus when he activated his trap he activated but it doesn't destroy a card. Destruction jammer works on cards like torrential tribute because when that card is activated it destroys all monsters. see the difference?
