Counting cards in blackjack?

Counting Cards?....Blackjack?....Help!?

  • okay, i know how to hi/lo count cards. But, i want to know if you have like negative 2. .....So? what does it mean? Should i hit Or something? And i watched 21 and they got up to 15. Is that with multidecks? When should i play? when i'm in the positive? i guess, since the low cards are out: meanig i get higher chances of getting 21 right? I've tried counting cards but, it really doesn't mean anything. What do i need to look for when i have postivie and negatives?

  • Answer:

It depends on how you count it. Counting cards is surprisingly easy. I saw a documentary of the MIT strudents that won big, and use a method similar to theirs (only cause I don't perfectly remember theirs). It really is just counting. The hardest part is to do math in your head and not look like you're thinking. All cards 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are counted as -1. All cards 7, 8 and 9 are counted as 0. All cards 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace are counted as +1. THIS IS THE EXPLANATION: Just keep count of what you see. Start at zero. Each time you see a low card, -1 from your count. Each time you see a neutral card, don't add or subtract anything. Each time you see a high card, +1 to your count. Basically this strategy tells you whether there is a better chance of pulling a high or low card from the deck. If you need a Queen and the count is -5 (meaning you have seen more low cards come from the deck), go for it. But, if you need a Queen and the count is +5 (meaning you have seen many of the high cards already used), then don't. I never actually use card counting, but Hope it helpz :]
