How do I activate Java to play bridge?

  • I have played bridge for years on Yahoo with no problem I up graded to IE #7 and that is when Icould no longer play.

    Hi, To make sure you have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in your Web browser: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/500002050 Turning off the blocker causes too many problems. For one thing you can't pop-up players profiles! To set your pop-up blocker properly, for Yahoo! tool bar, when you try getting on a site or link and it doesn't work, click on pop-up blocker, always allow tab and it will say recent pop-ups blocked. Highlight the "site", then click allow. For Internet explorer; Click tools at top of page, Internet Options, privacy tab. at bottom click edit on web site cookies, type in "the site name".com Then click allow and then click OK. eww eww @ IE7 .......... i will give you sum info to try but if none of it works i strongly suggest to rever back to IE6 and if you are running SP2 dump that as well. remove both from add and remove programmes in your control panel if suggestion below do not work. To play games on Yahoo with no hassles from your PC please read on, do one thing at a time till you get in, or do them all for hassle free games on yahoo..... click "tools" top of you browser a little pull down menu will appear ...... .click pop up blocker............ best advice is to turn it off..(ENABLE POPUPS)...of course some will say it is a mistake to turn it off but you can decide this for yourself once you know where it is, nothing bad or evil will happen if you decide to turn it off, so it is not a mistake, it is just a choice you make......... pop ups are very easy to just click off if they appear....once in the lounge........click "options" bottom left of the lounge and choose the small tables/windows option Make sure you are not running multiple task bars that have their own pop up blocker. If problems still persist read on........... Yahoo will not tell you when they update, they just do it. So when games/chat have a problem you can bank on it that Yahoo have updated..and Yahoo update often...When yahoo updates you must update as well there are 2 choices of Java you can use.......Sun Java and Virtual Machine....some prefer the sun java but the Virtual Machine works better for games and you do need Java to play in games, ( without it some won't get in and if some do get in , they won't stay in games) Update............. -- If you cant log into chat/games or you continually freeze, it is because Yahoo's browser has issues with SUN java as default, the coffee cup sux... The Virtual Machine Java works better with yahoo. Yahoo is Java dependant. This is also the reason for the games applets not loading and some web cam issues. You can "download" Java free from Sun Microsystems" and install it. You can uninstall IE 7 put back on IE 6 or go to Firefox browser 2.0.0.3
