• So I'm studying the yugioh game to improve my skills and I have been wondering some questions. When you attack and the opponent plays a card that destroys the monster and it's a trap card do they still take damage because I have came across cards that say negate the attack and destroy or so forth so I'm wondering if that would apply with that. another question is it a rule that you can't finish the opponent off in one turn

  So, If you have say, Dark Magician [2500 atk.] (cliche, i know) and it attacks a Cyber Dragon [2100 atk.] that is in attack position. Your opponent activates Mirror Force [When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls.], because Dark Magician and any other attack position monster you control is destroyed BEFORE the attack is resolved, thus no damage would be given and only Dark Magician Would be destroyed. OTK decks, [one turn kill] can be used to destroy all 8000 of your opponent's life points (Ojama OTK, Batteryman OTK, Burn OTK), or apply special victory conditions (All Exodia pieces in your hand at the same time)
