What are bolas and what are they for?

Tezzeret Agent of Bolas and Basilisk Collar?

  • When one uses Tezzeret Agent of Bolas' -1 ability to make Basilisk Collar a 5/5 artifact creature, does that creature retain the abilities printed on Basilisk Collar(Deathtouch and Lifelink)? There was nothing on the web about how this ability interacts with equipment so no help there. Looking for a judge to answer.

    Eh, not really. Basilisk Collar does not itself have Lifelink and Deathtouch; it has the ability to confer Lifelink and Deathtouch to the creature that is equipped with it. This ability does not go away. However, this does not mean that it gains those abilities when it becomes a creature, because it is not equipped with itself. Additionally, a creature cannot be equipped with another creature, so using Tezzeret's -1 on an equipment unattached it from a creature if it already is, and makes the Equip ability not work anymore.

Sure doesn't. The Collar gives the creature it's attached to Lifelink and Deathtouch. The Collar will just be a 5/5 artifact creature that could give ll and dt if it could be attached to a creature, which it cannot.
