How do you buy games/songs on itunes with a gift card?

I have a itunes account and my credit card is on the system and i just redeemed a gift car. when i want to purchase a game it says that the money will go out of my credit card.. can someone help me? i wanna buy it from my gift card not credit card.. thanks

Answer:
normally it would do it automatically. does the amount of ur gift card show upon the right hand corner i think thats where it shows. if not maybe it didnt work. if it does maybe the game was too much for ut gift card to cover.
