Do you think poker is more skill or luck?

Luck.

it is equaly both skill & luck.. you need the skill to know what to play, and the luck to hope what comes out on the community cards... i am talkin about poker Texas Hold em' both luck & skill are needed in all poker!!

luck has little to do with it. very little. i realize 2 win a big tournament u have 2 get lucky along the way, but im talking about winning n loosing over time. any1 who thinks CONSISTENTLY winning at poker is luck doesnt understand poker very well. they dont understand luck very well either. brian n jeff r your best answers so far.

Skill more then luck.

There are three factors: Skill(knowing how to bet efficiently), Luck(getting that good hand), and balls(bluffing, calling, under non ideal circumstances). Perhaps it's 33 1/3 / 33 1/3 / 33 1/3, and some of those crazy people I play with have huge balls, but in the end, they lose a lot, since they lack the skill and/or luck :) .

Its mostly skill and some luck (skill-60% luck-40%

on any given hand its 90% luck. Over the course of a tournament its 50% And over the course of a year its 90% skill. This why the best players in the world are the ones who win consistently and have done so over the years. Winning one tournament does not make you a great player.ie chris moneymaker. Joe hachem is the best player to win the world series in recnt years as he backed it up by winning several tournaments in the year afterward. where as raymer and moneymaker have not.

it's a bit of both.... luck because players don't know which cards they are going to be dealt and skill because they have to be able to play their cards - good or bad - to the best of their ability without the others being able to read them like a book... good poker skill is good bluffing! lol
